On January 31, Revenge Of kicked off the new year with a launch worthy of creators Kid Cudi, Kyle Higgins, and artist Tristin Eaton. It was an absolute blast, and we were so excited to share in something so special for everyone involved.
About Moon Man
Moon Man is a collaboration between Scott "Kid Cudi" Mescudi and Kyle Higgins. "Ramon is ready for a quiet life. Whatever went wrong on that failed moon mission, whatever happened in the missing minutes the cameras didn't capture, all he really wants is to settle down back home. But those missing minutes hold an Earth-shattering secret—and, with all eyes turned to him, Ramon will soon find himself becoming something the world has never seen before".

The night wasn't just about marking a launch; it transitioned into a grand reunion when creators Bryan Lee O'Malley, Edgar Wright, and BenDavid Grabinski graced the fans with their presence. Fans were holding their breath as they sat in a panel discussion with these extraordinary creators, discussion the place music has held in a story that began on paper, moved to film, converted to a retro video game and returned to television, with Anamanaguchi and composer Joseph Trapanese. FTB had the extraordinary privilege of producing the "Comic Creator Block Party with Patton & Jordan" for Revenge Of. More than a gathering, the event turned out to be an incredible symposium of over 30 comic creators. Celebrating the wide range within the comics sphere, this larger-than-life party brought together prolific writers, remarkable artists, and innovative minds working on adaptations of comics in different mediums. FTB DESIGN - Bringing Visionary Designs to an International ClienteleBy Corina SandruFTB Design Inc., a Local 44 signatory shop since February 2022, is a full-service production design firm that serves its local and international clients from concept to execution. The individual pieces or sets are created through 3D renderings, design boards, draftings, materials selection, and graphic design. Their in-house construction team can handle any build, from full-scale exteriors to custom furniture pieces. NewsReel had the pleasure of visiting the shop and meeting with the founders and their fabulous crew working hard at creating amazing designs. What began as a unified design brand quickly grew into an effort to continue working with not only the best crew members but cultivating a family of excellence. Hello, lovely readers! Isn't it exhilarating when we have the chance to bring someone else's creative vision to life? That was exactly our exciting task this past August, at the famed Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. It was our privilege to be trusted by Meyers Manx to translate their designs into a captivating reality. Envisioning an architectural spectacle amidst the lush landscape of Pebble Beach, the designs featured a standalone post and beam structure. Where some might see just a blueprint, we saw an opportunity for creative exploration and crafting a work of art. The result was a structure that showcased not only sophistication but also an embodiment of the designer's concept. This project assigned us the valuable role as the interpreting artist, taking the designs from paper sketches to tangible experiences. Every stakeholder, from our hardworking builders to our attentive project managers, took immense pride in this role and their contribution to making it a successful endeavor. With these stylized kiosks, the task was to create a trinity of architectural gems, each unique in character but harmonious as a collective. With precision and attention to detail, we turned the client's vision into these three freestanding marvels, perfect backdrops against the scenic views of Pebble Beach. The designs from our client called for luxurious lounges nested inside these homes. Drawing from their ideas, we built and installed chic, custom-made lounges, a bar, flats and bookshelves, with each piece potently echoing the style of Meyers Manx. The interiors demanded a touch of vibrancy. What better way to achieve this than with the playfulness of neon installations? And so, we infused the spaces with this luminous, youthful energy as per the designs provided to us. This project assigned us the valuable role as the interpreting artist, taking the designs from paper sketches to tangible experiences. Every stakeholder, from our hardworking builders to our attentive project managers, took immense pride in this role and their contribution to making it a successful endeavor. The joy on everyone's faces, the satisfaction our client derived from the finished installation, and the admiration of the visitors at the event - all these were testaments to our hard work and passion.
To have been part of Meyers Manx's creative journey at Pebble Beach, to have been given the chance to interpret their designs into a rewarding reality was truly a privilege. Here's to all the dreams we get to build and the stories we assist to tell! See you in the next adventure, Joe On August 19, something extraordinary happened. Revenge Of opened their portal to a thrilling new phase: their awe-inspiring store expansion, 'Base Station.' Doubling in size, it marked a significant milestone for the popular retailer and brought a myriad of invaluable opportunities to the table. At the heart of this transformation was the visionary team at FTB.DESIGN. The design process for this exciting expansion was influenced by a plethora of out-of-this-world visuals. Guided by the creative leadership of Jeff Eyser, the FTB team set about scaling their passion, expertise, and dedication to encompass the mesmerising brief. From AI-generated artwork, textures inspired by the hit show Silo, to visions of science fiction-esque oxygen farms - every reference was meticulously embedded in the new design. In an impressive three months, FTB.DESIGN transformed an ambitious idea into a tangible reality. Their collective endeavor led to the successful execution of a concept that would have appeared as a nebulous complexity to many. The installation task was spearheaded by Kevin Mincin, whose attention to detail and relentless pursuit of excellence ensured the project was brought to life exactly as envisioned. In an impressive three months, FTB.DESIGN transformed an ambitious idea into a tangible reality. With a keen eye for aesthetics and a deep understanding of the Revenge Of brand, they designed a space that elevates the customer experience while upholding the identity of the store. It's evident that FTB.DESIGN specializes not only in creating striking visual landscapes but also in capturing the spirit of a brand and cherishing its journey. This venture into the bold expansion of Revenge Of further cements their reputation as experts driven by passion, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
This latest accomplishment by FTB.DESIGN isn't just about expanding a physical space - it's about pushing boundaries, embracing innovation, and, most importantly, designing experiences that leave an undeniable mark. On the outskirts of San Diego Comic-Con 2023, spectators witnessed an extraordinary fusion of imagination and excitement: the "Brain Dead and Revenge of Magic Gathering Tournament," a must-attend event for all Magic the Gathering fans. FTB.DESIGN meticulously crafted the staging, accents, tables, and dressing, transforming an offsite location into a fantasy battle arena worthy of Magic the Gathering's vibrant lore. Urban streetwear brand, Brain Dead, ramped up the excitement with a drop of exclusive merchandise, tailored for the die-hard Comic-Con crowd. But the Brain Dead team didn’t stop at apparel; they fueled the event ambiance, dominating the decks and controlling the DJ space. The sought-after Commander Tournament was deftly orchestrated by Revenge Of, adding dimension and a thrilling competitive edge to the gathering. Magic the Gathering enthusiasts eagerly took up the challenge, livening the event with their enthusiasm and camaraderie. At the "Brain Dead and Revenge Of Magic the Gathering Tournament", the worlds of fashion, music, and competitive card games collided, creating an atmosphere as electric as San Diego Comic-Con itself. A celebration of Magic the Gathering and the San Diego Comic-Con community's spirit, the tournament highlighted the magic that can happen at the intersection of passion, creativity, and unity. We had the titilating pleasure of fabricating a pair of coffins for the Dragula: Titans World Tour. Last night we were invited to the Los Angeles performance to see them in their final resting place and boy howdy, they turned it up! Here's a few photos of the works in progress and the rendering that started them off. As it would turn out, they were also featured in "The Boulet Brothers' Halfway to Halloween Special" on Shudder and AMC+. |
